Journey Through Health

Hi, I'm Esther.

I am a board-certified Adult-Gerontological Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP-BC) and certified Transforming Touch® Practitioner (TTP). I bring together my background in healthcare, ongoing training in Functional Medicine, and somatic approaches to support people in understanding their health, reconnecting with their bodies, and exploring new possibilities for healing and well-being.

My own five-year-plus journey through severe Long COVID and recovery profoundly shaped the way I see health, healing, and life. Our unique path and the challenges we encounter—while not always chosen or easy—can open doors to a clearer sense of who we are. At the heart of Nistar is an invitation to discover the wisdom within. I find it a privilege to accompany others as they tune in more deeply and discover what may be possible when we begin to meet our experiences with wonder.

Transforming Touch®

Transforming Touch® (formerly known as Transforming the Experience-Based Brain® or TEB) is a somatic-based healing modality that works with the body and nervous system to support greater regulation, resilience, and overall well-being.

Grounded in Attachment Theory, Polyvagal Theory, and research such as the Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) Study, Transforming Touch® recognizes that our early experiences can shape the developing nervous system and influence our health across the lifespan.

Through relationship, presence, and gentle touch—or intentional touch without physical contact—this approach creates space for the nervous system to experience greater safety and connection.

Functional Medicine

Functional Medicine is a whole-person approach to health that views symptoms as a window into the body, exploring underlying patterns and factors that may be contributing to health concerns and overall well-being.

Understanding the body as an interconnected system, Functional Medicine considers each person in the context of their unique genetic makeup, environmental influences, and lifestyle to develop personalized recommendations that support health and optimal functioning.

Through lifestyle suggestions—in areas such as nutrition, sleep, stress management, mindset—along with targeted supplementation and education around relevant laboratory findings, this approach seeks to address the possible dynamics of imbalance and support the body’s natural capacity for health and healing.
